The following is a statement from me on the escalation of violence in the Middle East, which has also been included in this week’s newsletter:

“Militants from Gaza have begun attacking Israel, a tragedy that has killed at least 200 innocent Israeli citizens and over 230 Palestinian citizens. Over 2,000 more are wounded (combined). I am heartbroken that it came this far, and I strongly condemn these attacks on innocent people, including children. None of this is fair, or right, and I am hoping and praying for everyone in the Middle East and around the world that is affected by this escalation of violence. Finally, I call on our world leaders and members of the U.N. to advocate for and work towards peace in the region and across the world.”
