Earlier today, I mulled over whether or not I could feasibly move to Android full-time after being away for several years, due to the issues I’ve had on iPhone with my carrier. It’s not just RCS anymore. It’s MMS and SMS, too.
Tonight, I wrote an email to my carrier’s (being generic for security reasons) upper management, as well as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Fellow Phil Schiller, requesting assistance getting this resolved as I have dealt with both companies’ support departments and am still not at a point of resolution over two weeks later.
Look, I do not expect those emails to go anywhere, but I officially had it after the treatment I had from my carrier’s support department today. Instead of escalating me, I was met with an upsell on a phone plan and a new phone, which they billed as a way to fix the issue. While true, it’s frankly unacceptable. A bloody upsell! That is NOT the solution to a technical issue, to shove marketing down your throat and make you pay them more money!! What?!
Apple Support, in stark contrast, was lovely to text with, but they could only do so much. I’m extremely frustrated neither party are able to get these things working. Actually, I’m depressed. I just want my phone to work and not lose several years of app purchases and more!
So, we’ll see. But I figured I’d share I did that since I’m frustrated and tired.
